WRITING LIMERICKS
In the 5th year we started looking at another type of poetry - Limericks.
A limerick takes the pattern A, A, B, B, A. Lines A all rhyme with each other, and so do lines B. We used an example by Heidi related to the Lovers of Teruel project...
There once was a boy from Teruel
Diego, who loved Isabel
But they sent him away
For six years and a day
Spending most of his time in a cell.
News travelled that Diego was dead
Isabel married Rodrigo instead
But Diego returned
She was wed, he soon learned
So he died, then she died, it is said.
